EARLY LIFE
Freddie O. Anyaegbunam Jr. holds academic credentials in Conflict Studies, Law, Politics & History, and is currently undertaking studies in Social Anthropology at the University of Cambridge.
CAREER
Freddie O. Anyaegbunam Jr. is an award-winning British-Nigerian screenwriter and development producer. His feature film debut, 'The Weekend', premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Festival and was an official selection at the BFI London Film Festival 2024, Screamfest 2024, and the 2024 Slash Film Festival. 'The Weekend' also won 4 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) in 2024, including Best Film and Best Screenplay. His other works include the award-winning short film 'The Encounter', 'The Nancy Isime Show (Season 2)', and the upcoming limited series 'Man in the Mirror'. He also served as a script consultant on 'Shaping Us', which was an official selection at the British Urban Film Festival (BUFI) 2024 and premiered at the Pan-African Film Festival in 2024. Before his screenwriting career, Freddie worked as an analyst and strategic communications consultant for international NGOs and counter-extremism programs, served as a reservist in the British Army, and was a journalist in Southern Africa and Latin America. He is a member of Craft Services, Nicholas Weinstock's innovative community for aspiring screenwriters and writer-directors.
