EARLY LIFE
Fati Muhammad started her film career at the age of 15, showing her interest to Tahir Muhammad Fagge, a well-known filmmaker in the Kannywood industry. She was then introduced to Ishaq Sidi Ishaq who cast her in his film 'Da Babu'.
CAREER
Fati Muhammad is a famous and pioneer actress of Hausa film in the Northern Nigerian film industry, Kannywood, and was one of the most successful Hausa actresses in the early 2000s. In 2001, she was contracted by the Society for Family Health (SFH) to produce a massive sensitization campaign against HIV/AIDS, which sponsored her to the United Kingdom for six years. She has starred in numerous films including Sangaya, Zarge, Marainiya, and Mujadala. She has stated that she has retired from acting in movies but is still involved in filmmaking.
PERSONAL LIFE
Fati Muhammad married co-actor Sani Mai Iska in 2002 and moved to the UK for her SFH HIV/AIDS Project. Their marriage later ended. Upon her return to Nigeria, she became involved in the film industry again but stopped after marrying Umar Kanu, older brother to singer Ali Jita, which also later ended. She has no biological children but adopted a boy named Muhammad Sani. In 2019, she became involved in politics and has made it clear that she is actively involved in the field.
