Biography

EARLY LIFE

Esther Uzodinma was born around 2003 and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. She discovered her passion for performing arts in secondary school. She began studying Mass Communication at the University of Lagos, but due to strikes, she later pursued an online degree from a US university. She faced personal challenges like hormonal hair growth due to PCOS and hirsutism. Her mother initially opposed her acting career, but her grandmother supported her.

CAREER

Esther Uzodinma began her journey in the creative arts in 2015, making her official debut in the Nigerian film industry in 2018. She gained significant television exposure in 2018 with a role in 'Papa Ajasco' and a lead role as Angela Aberuagba in the Africa Magic comedy-drama series 'My Siblings and I'. In 2019, she took on the titular role of Sade in 'Sade (The Missing Girl)'. Her filmography includes 'Cornerstones' (2017), 'Cursed Egg' (2017), 'Witch Empire' (2017), 'Dance Hustlers' (2018), 'Secrets' (2019), 'Papa Betty' (2021), 'All or Nothing' (2022), 'Closure' (2022), 'A Game of Chess' (2022), 'Ije Awele' (2022) as Uju, and 'Now & Beyond' (2023) as Chinonso. Beyond acting, she is an entrepreneur, content creator, and philanthropist. She founded EST Productions for advertising and media marketing and EsteBare Ltd, which offers skincare solutions for sensitive, melanin-rich skin. In 2023, she was recognized as an Anzisha Fellow by the Anzisha Prize.

PERSONAL LIFE

In April 2022, Esther Uzodinma publicly discussed her single status and past struggles with body image due to PCOS and hirsutism. She maintains an active presence on Instagram, where she influences on topics like skincare, lifestyle, and entrepreneurship. Driven by her personal experiences, she is committed to empowering young girls to overcome insecurities and pursue their dreams. She advocates for normalizing women's health challenges and fostering confidence, notably through her Reshape Foundation, which aims to support 200,000 teenagers by 2030.
