Biography
EARLY LIFE
Enkay Ogboruche was born as Nkiruka Gift Onuabuobi into a family of seven in Kaduna State, northern Nigeria. She is the first of four siblings. She began singing at the age of 10 and had her first recording experience with her father. In her teenage years, she became a born-again Christian. She is also a soprano singer and a member of the Tehila Crew, a gospel singing group.
CAREER
Enkay Ogboruche started her solo career in 2015 with her debut album 'Kingdom Anthem', a 10-track album distributed by Honesty Music, featuring the popular track 'Yes, You Are The Lord'. Her second album, 'The Bridge', was released in 2018 at the Enkay Live in Concert, featuring artists like Kierra Sheard, Chioma Jesus, Frank Edwards, and Sammy Okposo. The album includes her hit track 'Salute'. She has collaborated with other gospel music artists both in Nigeria and internationally. Enkay is also the convener of 'THE SPOTLIGHT', a gospel music competition for upcoming artists, and 'ENKAY LIVE IN CONCERT'. She also hosts the yearly Alabanza concert in Nigeria and South Africa and an online talk show called 'The Gist with Enkay Ogboruche'. She appeared in Strain (2020) to spark vital awareness about sickle cell genotype compatibility and family health management.
