In the late 1990s he also served as a radio drama presenter on the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC). As an actor he appeared in several local films and is most widely remembered for his role as Patrick, the husband of the title character Neria (played by Jesesi Mungoshi), in Godwin Mawuru’s landmark 1991/1993 film Neria. The film, which addressed the plight of widows under customary law, remains one of Zimbabwe’s most iconic and highest-grossing productions. Other film credits include: Tanyaradzwa (2005) The Poacher Zvinhu Zvacho The Letter (2019), directed by Joe Njagu, in which he played Simon. His performance earned him a nomination for Best Actor (Southern Africa Fiction Feature) at the Sotigui Awards in Burkina Faso. Colleagues, including producer Joe Njagu, described him as highly professional, dedicated, gentle, and soft-spoken. Even while dealing with serious health issues during the filming of The Letter, he maintained a strong work ethic and commitment to the craft. He was regarded as a mentor and “father figure” to many younger practitioners in the industry.
