Biography
EARLY LIFE
Tina Edukpo grew up in Otodo Gbame, a waterfront informal settlement in Lagos, Nigeria. In 2016–2017, she was among over 30,000 residents forcibly evicted by the Lagos State Government. The eviction left her homeless for a period and caused her to drop out of school. These experiences profoundly shaped her commitment to community justice, resistance against forced evictions, and advocacy for the urban poor.
CAREER
Edukpo Tina is a Nigerian filmmaker and a member of the Agbajowo Collective, a filmmaking group. She co-directed the film "The Legend of the Vagabond Queen of Lagos," which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.
