EARLY LIFE
Eddy Young, born Edward Osaretinmwen Erhahon in May 1995 in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, initially aspired to be a lawyer. His passion shifted towards performing arts in high school, where he actively participated in theatre productions and received an award in acting. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Adult and Non-Formal Education from the University of Benin. During his university years, he continued staging plays and worked as an on-air personality, which deepened his exposure to media production.
CAREER
Eddy Young began his career in the Nigerian film industry in 2011, initially taking on roles in event videography and assisting in media productions. His major breakthrough came in 2019 as the producer of the romantic comedy 'Kasanova,' which achieved significant box office success and was distributed on Netflix. He also managed the VOD platform Fojo TV and contributed to its YouTube presence, producing web series like 'The Badchelors' (2020) and 'Man Like Jimmy' (2021). In 2021, he relocated to the UK to pursue further film studies at Staffordshire University and has since been involved in producing an ongoing documentary for a major streaming service, filmed across Africa and the UK.
PERSONAL LIFE
Eddy Young relocated to Wolverhampton, UK, in 2021 to be with his fiancée. He enjoys preparing traditional Nigerian cuisine like pounded yam and egusi soup to stay connected to his heritage. His musical preferences include Nigerian artist Davido and British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. He considers James Cameron's 'Titanic' his favorite film and Rihanna his biggest celebrity crush.
