EARLY LIFE
Dimbo Atiya initially studied Urban and Regional Planning before realizing his passion lay in filmmaking. He transitioned into filmmaking in 2008. In the same year, he was nominated for the British Council's International Young Entrepreneur Awards and received a scholarship to attend Creative Lives, a development program at the Lagos Business School.
CAREER
Dimbo Atiya is an award-winning Nigerian filmmaker, writer, producer, director, and show-runner with over a decade of experience. He studied professionally at the New York Film Academy in New York and California in 2012. He has produced over 500 episodes of television and five feature films, creating job opportunities for hundreds of actors and crew members. He served as Co-Creator, Executive Producer, Producer, Co-Writer, and Director of 'The Rishantes'. His notable credits include 'Sons of the Caliphate', 'Halita' (Seasons 1 & 2), 'Still Falling', 'Drawing Strength', 'War: Wrath and Vengeance' (Netflix), 'The Plan' (Netflix), and 'Dala Dala'. His drama series 'Halita' won the AMVCA Best Africa Magic Original Drama Series award in 2022.
PERSONAL LIFE
Dimbo Atiya met his wife, Karachi, at the Creative Lives development program at Lagos Business School.
