EARLY LIFE
Deborah Jalmet loves storytelling from a young age. She grew up among the Hausas in Plateau State, Nigeria, and her mother is Idoma from Benue State, which contributed to her fluency in the Hausa language.
CAREER
Deborah Jalmet is an actress, filmmaker, scriptwriter, commercial/content developer, producer, director, and media consultant. She was inspired to go into filmmaking by a professor in Canada, Brian Etuk of the Nigerian Film Corporation, and Nduka Otiono for scriptwriting. She is the Plateau State Chairperson of the Nollywood Artistes Association and the founder of the Plateau International Film Festival (PIFF) and Hometown Media Production, Communications and Entertainment. She uses her films to tell African stories and has worked with notable actors like Ali Nuhu.
