Biography
EARLY LIFE
Chinwe Egwuagu, born in Anambra State, had an early ambition to become a broadcaster. She is a Mass Communication graduate of IMT, Enugu. Her father was also a master storyteller.
CAREER
Chinwe Egwuagu started her career as a scriptwriter. She worked for seven years to save enough for her movie productions. Her first movie, 'Forget Heaven', was released in 2008. She also produced 'Onyebuchi', an Igbo movie about the Osu cast system. Her notable cinematic works include 'Mr & Mrs' (2012), 'Ayaka' (2016), and 'Mr & Mrs: Chapter Two' (2017). She was known for her creative approach to filmmaking, not wanting to be boxed into a particular genre, and was also involved in screenplay writing, producing, and financing her films.
PERSONAL LIFE
Chinwe Egwuagu passed away on April 2, 2023, in the United States of America, where she was undergoing treatment for cancer.
