Chinny Chukwu Ahaneku

EARLY LIFE

Chinasa Chukwu Ahaneku was born in Enugu State, Nigeria, with roots in Udi Local Government Area. Her mother is from Udi. She developed an interest in storytelling and acting early, eventually studying at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

CAREER

She began her acting career around 1999. Early challenges included being told her voice was too soft for certain roles, but she persisted and moved into writing, producing, and directing. She gained widespread popularity for her lead role as Alice in the 2006 film Alice My First Lady (and its sequel), which showcased her versatility in dramatic and transformative roles. Key works include, Alice My First Lady (2006), Alice My First Lady 2 (2006), Alice in America (2017), Deceit of the Gods (2008), Queen Sheba (2003), and collaborations with actors like Patience Ozokwor. She has written and produced multiple movies since the early 2000s. After a period of reduced visibility in Nollywood, she continued projects like Alice in America while building a career in healthcare in the US.

Chinny Ahaneku is reported to be married. She relocated to the United States, where she has worked as a registered nurse/health worker.
