Biography
EARLY LIFE
Camilla Mberekpe was born in Enugu State in southeastern Nigeria. She received her secondary education at Queen of the Rosary College in Onitsha and later studied Journalism at the Institute of Journalism in Enugu, graduating in 1991.
CAREER
Camilla Mberekpe joined Nollywood in the mid-1990s and became one of the most recognizable faces for antagonistic and horror-tinged roles. She is best remembered for her terrifying performances in movies that gave many viewers nightmares during the golden era of Nollywood. She has appeared in several Nollywood films including, Karishika, A Fool at 40 (2006), The Guilty 2 (2006), Game Fools Play (2007) and The Guilty (2006), and various classic titles where she played wicked mothers, stepmothers, witches, and powerful antagonists. Her ability to portray intense, intimidating characters made her a household name, especially in the straight-to-video Nollywood era. She has been less active in recent years but remains a respected veteran of the industry.
PERSONAL LIFE
Camilla Mberekpe has kept much of her personal life private. She is reported to be married with children, though specific details about her spouse are not widely publicized. In 2013, she gained media attention after a deliverance session at Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) with Prophet T.B. Joshua, where she was reportedly delivered from alleged demonic torments. She has denied certain witchcraft-related confessions attributed to her in the media.
