Biography
EARLY LIFE
Biodun Sofuyi Olabiyi was born at Highland Maternity Hospital, Lagos Island, Lagos State, Nigeria. She is the only daughter in a family of five children. Her father was a pastor at the Holy Spiritual Circle Church, and her mother worked as a trader and businesswoman. She completed her tertiary education at Lagos State University, Ojo, where she majored in Communication Studies.
CAREER
She made the self-produced film Tolani Osinrin in 2007. Her movie Omobutty, another self-produced movie, became both critically and popularly acclaimed, earning her the nickname in 2014. In an interview in February 2025, Biodun described her break from Nollywood, dealing with public scrutiny, and her firm stance against on-screen nudity.
PERSONAL LIFE
Biodun Okeowo is happily married and frequently shares milestones celebrating her husband and family life. She is a mother of two. She recently celebrated a major personal milestone when her son, Faizan, graduated with a 4-year degree from Concordia University of Edmonton in Canada. She spoke openly about the financial sacrifices she made as a single mother to fund his education, including skipping social events and selling her gold jewelry.
