Biography
Benny Akpana is a Nigerian actress, filmmaker, and humanitarian. She rose to national prominence as Miss Heritage Nigeria (2015) and Miss Heritage Africa (2016), and serves as the Women Leader for the Cross River State chapter of the City Boy Movement. Akpana is a recognizable face in the Nigerian film industry, having worked in both Nollywood and the Hausa-language industry, Kannywood. She is an alumna of the Del-York Creative Academy and has starred in popular productions, including, Daddy's Angels (2023), Ifeoma (2021), Insecure Becky (2023), Second Chances. Outside of entertainment, she is highly active in social causes, primarily focusing on prison reform and the welfare of women and children. To mark her birthday, she frequently engages in charitable outreaches. Notably, she visited the Suleja Custodial Centre, where she paid off the fines to secure the release of inmates who were financially constrained. Expanding her influence into grassroots mobilization, she was appointed as the Women Leader for the Cross River State chapter of the youth powerhouse, the City Boy Movement. In this role, she actively drives youth empowerment, civic participation, and political engagement.
