Aya Kanu, professionally known as MC Mbakara, is a Nigerian comedian, actor, master of ceremonies (MC), and entrepreneur celebrated for his engaging performances and comedic talent. Born on September 23 1987, he hails from Biase Local Government Area in Cross River State, Nigeria. Raised in a culturally rich environment, MC Mbakara’s early exposure to entertainment was influenced by his family’s access to foreign films, leading his mother to nickname him “Eyen Mbakara,” meaning “white kid” in Efik. This moniker later became his stage name. He pursued higher education at the University of Calabar, earning a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry between 2005 and 2009. Furthering his studies, he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication from Cross River University of Technology.
