Biography

EARLY LIFE

Arielyn Bassek was born on March 23, 1998, in the Bota and Coconut Island neighborhood of Victoria (now Limbe), Cameroon. He spent his childhood in Limbe before moving to Buea, where he trained with second-division football teams while simultaneously pursuing modeling. His passion for the arts and performance was evident early on, influenced by his family background—his late mother was supportive of his creative pursuits, and an aunt, Joy Nwariso (formerly Miss UNIPORT), encouraged his entry into pageantry. Family and friends nicknamed him “Fulani” due to his striking features and beauty, despite not being from Northern Nigeria. He began modeling professionally around 2015, walking at the International Fashion Week in Dubai, and later competed in the Mr. Universe Nigeria male pageant in 2018. His move to Nigeria came through soccer opportunities, which eventually opened doors to acting. He speaks English and French fluently and has described his journey as one shaped by resilience, family support, and a natural draw to entertainment from a young age. He stands at 6 feet (183 cm) tall, maintains a rigorous gym routine, and embraces a stylish, athletic persona with distinctive hairstyles and low cuts.
