Biography
EARLY LIFE
Andrew Dosunmu started his career as a design assistant at the fashion house of Yves Saint Laurent. He later became a creative director for album covers and a fashion photographer.
CAREER
Dosunmu has directed music videos for artists including Isaac Hayes, Angie Stone, Common, Tracy Chapman, Wyclef Jean, Kelis, Aaron Neville, Talib Kweli, and Maxwell. His 1999 documentary 'Hot Irons' won best documentary at FESPACO. He has also directed episodes of the South African television series 'Yizo, Yizo' and the documentary 'The African Game'. His feature films include 'Restless City' (2011), 'Mother of George' (2013), 'Where Is Kyra?' (2017), 'Beauty' (2022), and 'Circus Maximus' (2023).
