EARLY LIFE

Oni Lukuman Olanrewaju, professionally known as Ambassador Wahala or Amb. Wahala, was born in Ogun State, Nigeria. He spent his formative years in his home state before relocating to Abuja, where he built his career. He discovered his passion for comedy during his secondary school days. He began performing stand-up comedy and mimicking personalities around that time, laying the foundation for what would become a distinguished career in entertainment. His early exposure to humor and performance in secondary school sparked a lifelong dedication to making people laugh, eventually leading him to Abuja, the heart of Nigeria’s political and entertainment scene.

CAREER

Ambassador Wahala is a veteran comedian, radio presenter, actor, and MC who has been a prominent figure in Nigeria’s entertainment industry since 2005. He is widely recognized as one of the top 10 comedians in the country and the first Abuja-based comedian to celebrate 20 years on stage. His career began gaining traction through stand-up comedy and mimicry of high-profile personalities, most notably his famous impressions of former First Lady Dr. Mrs. Patience Jonathan. This talent for impersonation quickly made him a crowd favorite in Abuja’s comedy scene. As a radio presenter, he anchors the popular “Tori Wowoh” (also referred to as Tori Wowo) news and current affairs programme on Love FM Abuja. The show has become a staple for listeners seeking insightful commentary on national issues, delivered with his signature humor and boldness. He has used this platform to comment on politics, governance, and social matters, often calling for the removal of underperforming ministers and demanding accountability from the Federal Executive Council. In addition to radio and stand-up, Ambassador Wahala has excelled as an MC and performer at high-profile events. He has taken his comedy internationally, including a 2015 tour to the UK and South Africa organized by Passo Entertainment in conjunction with Excuse Me Laugh Nigeria LTD. His performances feature fresh material without repetition and often include special concepts like mimicking President Muhammadu Buhari at the time. He has also ventured into acting, with a credited role as Peter in the 2019 film The Confessor. In September 2025, he marked a historic milestone with a grand 20th-anniversary comedy show tagged “Uncontrolled” at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja. The event featured performances by top comedians including Seyi Law, Akpororo, Chuks D’General, Koboko Master, MC Bob, Shortcut, Waffy, Washington, MC Nappy, Loud Voice, Mazi Prospa, Funny Razaq, Makinde David, Danny Sprite, MC Sam, Deacon Albino, Wale Baba, and Nick B., with special appearances by Styl Plus and hype MC Headmaxter.
