Alexandra Duah

Alexandra Duah was a legendary Ghanaian veteran actress, film editor, and cinematographer who played a foundational role in the growth of Ghana's cinema industry. Widely celebrated for her commanding presence, exceptional diction, and deep emotional range, she left a lasting legacy before her passing in 2000. Before stepping in front of the camera, she trained in cinematography and formally qualified as a film editor. She polished her performance skills in London under the guidance of acclaimed veteran actress Jean P. Martin. She starred in several of the most culturally significant African films of the late 20th century such as Heritage Africa (1989), Sankofa (1993), Ama (1991), Matters of the Heart (1993), African Timber (1989), Aya Minnow (1992), Diabolo 2 (1992), and Temptations (1998).
