Biography

EARLY LIFE

Adetokunbo Shittu grew up in Ilesa, Osun State, and later relocated to Zaria. His earliest exposure to performances came from the Egungun festivals, and the TV serial 'Arelu' further fueled his interest in theatre and film. He pursued visual and performing/film arts at secondary and tertiary levels, graduating from the Dramatic Arts Department, Obafemi Awolowo University, with a degree majoring in Play Production and Directing.

CAREER

Adetokunbo Shittu is a film and theatre producer, director, actor, and writer. He has handled productions such as Femi Robinson’s Ajantanla (sponsored by the Lagos State Government for the Centenary Celebration of Nigeria in 2010) and Gboyega Àjàyí Bembe’s Towo Omo for the Lagos@50 celebration. He started in live theatre production, writing, publishing, and staging plays, before transitioning to screen work. His recent production, 'Atunwa,' is a modern fictional drama inspired by the mythical character Eleko Idere from the Ifa corpus, reflecting African concepts of life, death, and rebirth.
