EARLY LIFE

Abby Plaatjes was born in Durban, South Africa. She has mentioned that she has been writing in journals since she was a teenager and was obsessed with television and Old Hollywood from a very young age.

CAREER

Abby Plaatjes has had a long career in entertainment spanning over 12 years (as of 2016). She first gained public attention as a housemate on the original Big Brother Africa Reality Show in 2003. Following her stint on the show, she moved to Tanzania, where she became a successful media personality. She co-hosts on Choice FM Tanzania (as of 2016) and has hosted the E! Africa's E! VIP Series. She has also worked as an actress in Nollywood movies. She took roles in films like The Price of Love 2: Life Is Beautiful (2005), Above the Crown (2006) and Baby Girl (2005). In 2011, she launched her own PR and events company called Black Ice Ltd. She is also a producer.

PERSONAL LIFE

Abby Plaatjes is a mother of two children. In a 2016 interview, she stated that being a mother to her two children is one of her greatest achievements, alongside finding God.

Abby currently lives and works in Tanzania (as of 2016). She describes herself as someone who is driven by her Christian faith, listing her Bible and journals as her most treasured possessions.
