Storyline
"Wife Market" tells the story of Peniel, a strong woman engaged to Desmond. The trouble starts in the car when they pick up Desmond's mom, Madam Rita. Rita argues that Peniel should not sit in front and makes her move to the back, calling her a stranger. This sets a bad start. Madam Rita meets her friends, the "Women of Valor." They chant about ruling their homes and share stories of controlling sons and wives. Rita brags about the car fight, and her friends say "Clock it!" to agree. They plan to make life hard for Peniel at the memorial and wedding in Lagos. Rita wants to show who's boss early. Peniel flies to Lagos, but her driver does not come. Rita shows up with a friend but refuses to give her a ride. She says Peniel must go alone to another house. Peniel is left at the airport with bags, feeling upset. On Instagram live, Peniel talks to fans about women knowing their value. She says do not let men or others treat you bad. She shares about her trip to meet Desmond's family. At the memorial place, a big hotel, Desmond greets Peniel, but Rita wants her to kneel like tradition. Peniel says no, she is an adult and won't be shamed. Rita gets angry and says no marriage if Peniel does not obey. The fight grows, with Rita calling her rude. Rita's friends eat and gossip. They back Rita and say Peniel is proud, not good for their group. The big clash happens when Peniel does another live in her room. Mrs. Juliet, Rita's friend, bursts in and asks why Peniel is not helping serve food. Peniel says she is a guest, not a maid, and does not know them. Then Rita comes with friends and tells Peniel to leave the room for a friend. Peniel refuses, saying there are other rooms and she was there first. The women argue loud, friends push Rita to handle the "bad" daughter-in-law. The story ends on this big fight. Through it all, "Wife Market" shows how mothers-in-law can bully and how women like Peniel fight back. It mixes humor, drama, and lessons on respect and change.
