When Grace Meets Desire

Esther is a dedicated pastor. The story starts with a tense office talk with Kevin. He says he could not find anyone else for the job but Esther scolds him for his age and interest in her. She calls him disrespectful. She prepares for church and gets angry at Bella for live-streaming instead of attending. Esther gives a strong sermon on God's love. Kevin praises it outside but she keeps it short. She fires a young accountant for coming late and being rude. Bella picks Kevin as photographer for the church summit. Esther checks his photos and is not happy at first but still hires him. In a hotel photo shoot Kevin tells her to relax and smile. Their work turns personal. At a restaurant he pushes her to try seafood okra and live more balanced. At a bar lounge Esther feels uncomfortable but their connection grows. Kevin takes her on a night motorcycle ride. She fears falling but he says she deserves to be free and feel the wind. In the church board meeting the members are furious. They saw photos of Esther and Kevin kissing and call it a scandal. Esther defends herself saying kissing is not a sin and the church is hypocritical. She steps down as senior pastor. After that she packs her bags. She tells Bella she will not let fear or others control her happiness. Kevin calls worried but she says she is not pushing him away. Bella tells Kevin that Esther really likes him. In the end Esther walks out with her bags, gets into Kevin's black pickup truck and they drive away together. She chooses love and freedom over church rules.
