In Love At First Lie, CEO Efe Okojie loses a huge contract because his company is haunted by a fraud scandal from his father's era. His mother forces him to find a wife fast to look stable for another client, Chief Abbey. Meanwhile, Lara Adeoye struggles to pay rent and her father's hospital bills. Her father was jailed for the same fraud that hurts Efe's company, but he swears he is innocent. Efe meets Lara by accident and offers her 10 million Naira to pretend to be his wife for six weeks. She first refuses but, with no options left, agrees. Her condition is that Efe must reinvestigate the old fraud case to clear her father's name. They start their fake marriage and Lara helps Efe win the big contract from Chief Abbey. As they live together, they start to have real feelings. Efe investigates the fraud and makes a shocking discovery. The records prove Lara's father was set up. The real thief was Efe's own mother, Mrs. Okojie. She framed Mr. Adeoye to save the company and herself five years ago. Efe confronts his mother and forces her to confess, resign, and return the stolen money. Efe clears Mr. Adeoye's name publicly and uses the company money to pay all the hospital bills and give damages to Lara's family. With the lies and secrets gone, Efe and Lara's fake relationship turns into true love, ending the film together for real.
