Zara, a single mother, pours her love into daughter Annabel, straining her relationship with Desmond, who resents her devotion. Despite Zara giving him half her salary, Desmond’s complaints escalate, and he ends their relationship after Zara questions his calls from other women. When Desmond stops paying rent, Zara and Annabel are evicted, forcing them to sleep in an uncompleted building. Tobi, a kind customer from Zara’s laundry job, discovers them and offers shelter in his home, transforming their lives. As Tobi bonds with Annabel, who calls him “daddy,” he proposes to Zara, but she hesitates, scarred by past betrayals.
