Extra Large is a heartfelt Nollywood movie that follows two broken relationships and how a new one brings healing, while tackling body shaming and materialism head-on. Yomi is madly in love with his girlfriend Annabel, but she only cares about luxury. Yomi struggles to keep up and empties his savings for her. Across town, Dozie lives with Favour, a plus-sized woman who adores him and cooks for him, but Dozie is cold and dismissive. On Favour’s birthday, her friend Rita surprises her with cake and gifts, but Dozie comes home late, forgets the day completely, insults her, and later breaks up with her cruelly. He says he is tired of “managing” her, calls her fat and unattractive, and tells her to pack and leave. Devastated, Favour moves in with Rita. Favour met Yomi opens the gate, treats him kindly, and even gives him a small gift. Later she calls to confirm delivery and prays for him. Yomi is touched by her warmth, so different from Annabel. They meet again at the gym, start talking, exchange numbers, and soon begin dating. Yomi and Favour fall deeply in love. She cooks delicious meals, they watch football together (she knows the game well), laugh, and enjoy simple moments. Yomi becomes happier and even gains a little “happy weight.” Yomi realises he made a terrible mistake because of societal pressure. He becomes miserable, and even Peter admits Favour was good for him. Yomi goes to Rita’s house, apologises sincerely, admits his foolishness, and begs for another chance. Favour sees his honesty and forgives him. In the final scene, Yomi and Favour are happily together at a lounge. Annabel walks in with an older rich “sugar daddy” and tries to mock them again, but this time Yomi stands tall and proudly introduces Favour as his woman. The movie ends with the couple enjoying their love, showing that real connection matters more than size or money. Extra Large delivers a strong message of self-love, respect, and choosing kindness over shallow standards.
